    I'm passionate about software development.

I started programming at age 11 on a MSX, a Z80-based computer, which had advanced graphics capabilities for its time, in addition to a very good BASIC interpreter from a start-up known as Microsoft, which encapsulated all the advanced features of the machine behind simple BASIC instructions.

I self-taught myself BASIC (resorting to MSX manuals), and soon moved on to DBASE and Pascal. At 14 I read Yourdon's "Structured Design" in English (in which I'm also self-taught).

My first job, at 16, was in a Sofware House specialized in selling MSX games and applications. I've got the job after demoing a program that I wrote, with a mix of BASIC and Z80 Assembly, for copying and cataloguing MSX programs on floppy-disks.

After this first, precocious occupation inside the software industry, I've worked for my father with Turbo Pascal and Visual Basic. In 1996 I was hired for my first "official" job as a VB programmer at GPS Tecnologia. Surpassing expectations I was promoted to System Analyst (autodidact) and during my tenure there I was exposed to a very diverse selection of technologies: Delphi, .NET, C#, PLC/Ladder, Smart Cards, MIFARE, OOP/OOD, Pascal, C/C++, Lua, JavaScript and many more.

In parallel I've written, for my own amusement, the first native Delphi library for reading and writing PNG images (1997), published articles and taught object-oriented programming courses.
